I cried at Star Wars today

The Return of the Jedi, last scene. Darth Vader turns to good and is standing there with Obi Wan Kenobi and Yoda as the empire celebrates the victory of the rebels.

Then I cried at Touched by an Angel. Oh, and a weather channel show about storms.

I have officially reached sappy.

Welcome to the club. It is filled with a strangely wonderful group of very eclectic people. I've cried to Star Trek, not just when Spock died, but when the Enterprise was destroyed, and on the first movie when Scotty was flying the shuttle around the new ship.
I came home one day, and turned on the TV to Terms of Endearment....... enough said.
Most recently was Finding Nemo.... give me a break please. You really have to watch what you take your kids to.
:-)

You know what's really sappy Dinah............
I was close to tears when Kane was forced to unmask at Raw on monday night. (I'm a huge wrestling WWE fan) I felt so bad for him because he has hidden his identity for so many years and now everyone knows what he looks like. I was just so upset that the management made him do that because he lost his match.
Ain't that pathetic??

I can't believe I admitted this. Oh God....
love ya Dinah

The first time I had really bad PMS, I cried at an Isaac Aasimov story about a girl growing up with a sort of robot nanny. CRIED. *sniff*

People just don't understand robots. They care. :`(

I used to be a big sucker for happy endings, dog stories (are there any where the dog doesn't die?), good over evil, sacrifice, and of course Christmas stories.

I lost that for a long time, culminating in my postpartum depression. After that I would just get so upset because the even Grinch (maybe Christmas meant something much more) didn't make me cry. And that's been close to seven years.

Upon reflection, I think it's a good thing to be able to cry at movies again.

And you guys made me laugh about what I was choosing to cry about. Thanks. :)

(And Tabitha, the weather channel Storm Stories are really touching. Full of pain and loss and courage and self sacrifice. Sniff. Sniff. Almost overcomes my deep dislike of the weather channel caused by my husband's fascination with and eternal playing of it.)

I cry at Star Wars... but thats just cos of hubbies total SW obsession... imagine.. we have a small, one bed flat... with 2000 star wars tys anbd related crap stashed in it.. now he is moving onto collecting Lord of the Rings stuff too!!! Our flat is fit to burst.. how we will get it sellable is anyones guess!!!

Ooh, my son would be so jealous. His goal is to have every Star Wars Lego set, put them together, and them disassemble them into a huge pile of teensy teensy unidentifiable parts.

I have no problem with the weather channel..

actually dinah, I've been moved to tears by
storms, really! and not cause I'm scared either
its like a sunset, or a rainbow.
Its the touched by an Angel I don't understand.
However... I have this Christmas Album by Nat King Cole and it has a song on it called "The little boy that Santa Clause Forgot" and even just thinking about that song, oh man I'm tearing up already.
I mean why not just imagine your favorite pet is sick for holiday cheer.....
