My name is Ryan and I want to keep this as short as possible. My life is currently in turmoil—I am filing for bankruptcy, I am unemployed, I am on medication for depression, I have had a horrendous childhood, and I have rent due on October 1st, 2002 and, I have a negative balance in my bank account. However, with all of these misfortunes I refuse to quit; I continue to get medical help and a job that will get my life back on track.
I am asking for a dollar donation. For every dollar received, I will donate ten minutes of my time to a local charity. Look at this as an investment into one person’s life and the lives of many others. This letter is out of desperation; is a stepping stone to get my life back on track; and a way to benefit the community. Please help me and send a $1 bill in an envelope and sent it to xxx.
The money is going purely for my rent for the month of October. This is not a joke. You can call the Salvation Army at 312.455.9360 or write them a letter addressed to 105 S Ashland Ave. Chicago, IL 60607 to keep track of my progress. All of the service will be completed by October 1st 2003.

You are right Iso I did try to post a “get rich quick” posting on Monster.com and few other sights. I have realized that this is a scam and is illegal and have stopped these postings. If you still have doubts email moderator2 at www.healthboards.com and they will tell you that I have sent my apologies for that mistake.

Even if you are sincere, I feel this isn't a good place for your plea for money.
There's many people similar to you who have posted somewhere on the internet asking for help in paying off bills, starting a new life, or whatever. Your method is not unique, & like the others who ask for money, with or without ruses involved, I feel it's wrong. If others wish to help you (pay you) that's their business but there's many others in similar if not far worse situations who have managed without asking for others.
Believe me, there's been times I've been sorely tempted to beg or panhandle when I've been flat out broke, no assets, & nothing but a few staples in the pantry to eat, but pride & ethics would never allow me to.

Well, after I have a place to live, and a job,
which will be no earlier than January because social services decided not to give me a cheque this month and I don't have a permanent address so I can't get a social worker to help me with it, and I can't get my medication this weekend because I don't have an address which means I don't have a regular physician, which means pharmacare has put me on a restricted list meaning they will only okay medication from one doctor who I can't afford to take the bus to see.
I will perhaps be able to spot you a dollar. But of course if I do come into any money the first person I would tell is dear Dr.Eamerz because we have been battling similar circumstances. She's been funny, and charming and hugely supportive.Our situation is is representative of many people who post here.
So I must ask another question, did you join P.B just so you could ask for money?

Sorry to hear you are still in a bad situation.
I'm still having problems even though I have found somewhere...
I'm screaming on a hourly basis.
Life isn't fair nope nope but hope could be a useful thing to have on prescription
