This is certainly very sad! My heart goes out to her friends and family.
Just curious, though: how did you know to post here? I know that if something had happened to me, this place would be the last thing on anybody's mind. (Only three people even know about it, and they're all so computer illiterate that they wouldn't know how to register!)

I've looked in San Antonio and Austin obits and can't find a listing that 'matches'. She evidently lived in S.A. before Austin.
I guess I won't pursue this. Don't know what else to look for.

I have called every major hospital in Austin, including the police department, neither of which have turned up anything for her full real name, and I will continue with San Antonio, which Includes contacting her parents.
At the very least I will fly to Austin/San Antonio to confrim this, that is my resolve.

Thanks so much for doing this. This makes me ill. Sar and I had been emailing one another lately and I sent her an email on Friday because I was concerned that she hadn't shown up on the Board in awhile. I assumed that she simply wasn't able to get to a computer but she always seemed to find a way to check in at least once a week or so. I haven't been on the Board for a couple of days so this is the first I'd heard. I quite literally woke up this morning worried about her and thinking about how I could try to track her down if she didn't respond to my email. I too knew her real name. I hope this is all a horrible hoax but i know how suicidal she could sometimes feel.

I regret to inform eveyrone that I was able to reach her place of work, who confrimed that she was indeed the victim of suicide this past week.I don't know what the next step is for me, I don't know at all, in the largest sense of the word, I just don't know... My next call is to Victim Services at the police department in Austin, for as much information as I can get.

I'm pretty sure that her family lives in San Antonio or wherever she was right before she moved back to Austin. Can't we just go through every xxx in the San Antonio phone book?

My deepest sympathies to those who lost a friend and loved one when Sar died. My heart goes out to the people here at Babbles who were close to her, and I wish you all comfort.
For Sar, I believe she is undoubtedly in a place of peace and out of the terrible pain of living. I will remember her warmly as part of the family here.

I also want to extend my heart-felt sympathies to those here who have lost a loved one. I only knew Sar from her writings here, but thru the pain and sorrow I saw I also saw a person who was incredibly passionate about those she cared about. This was one of many things that made her a very special person.
I hope she finds the peace she was seeking. She will be missed.

I can send you her name, yet, I have allready called her place of work who confirmed that she was found dead in her appartment on tuesday. They even gave me the name of a contact person at the Police Department Victim Services center.

Hey all,
Everyone has questions, I want to talk to people who were w/her toward the end. I want to go to the coffee house, maybe not today, it depends on your answers.
If you don't think this is ethical, to get into her life, when the deal here is that we are all anonymous, I understand, and am struggling w/that.It seems to me that all of a sudden it's a new ballgame, and all of the old bets are off. To me, it's not a question of what harm can it do, it's a question of what would Sar want? And the answer to that can only be guessed at. I await your replies.

Trouble - others may disagree, but i don't think Sar was as assiduous as others about protecting her identity and I don't think she would mind our attempts to find out more. I think she had such little regard for herself - I would love to find a way to let people who knew her understand how special and important she was to all of us. If you or Phil or Kid_a are able to find anything out, please share whatever you are able to glean. I'm sure others feel as helpless and lost as I do - this is such a hard thing to deal with under any circumstances and particularly within the constraints of internet relationships.

I know a lot of people think that friend might be lying, but it is possible that this friend of sar's is fulling a wish of hers. I know that I told my friend that if I did kill myself that I wanted her to post on this board and tell everyone. Sar obviously cared about us alot and maybe she wanted someone tell us about her death. It is possible that that is what happened.
