It's embarrassing. I can't figure out how to sign up for PB Open on Yahoo. I get to the "confirm your email" page, where it says a confirmation number has been sent to my email address... but no message comes from Yahoo. I check the email address... it's correct.
Any suggestions??
Thanks for your help,
Mark H.

I just needed to be patient. Apparently, "an email has been sent" means "sometime in the next 20 minutes, our server may send you a confirmation."
Now, when do people get together to chat at Open?
Thanks,
Mark H.

Every time I go to PB open I think I'm there in the chat room, but there are no chatters listed in the box on the right. I type in a message, hit send and instantly get a message saying "general chat error." I've posted about this before and it's been suggested to me that it's an occasional yahoo problem, but I've never gotten beyond this stage. For those of you who do get on I have a question. When you get into the Chat Room, do you see a list of chatters and do others messages come up on the screen right away?

Mair,
I see myself listed in the box on the right, but the chat box seems to always open with a blank (meaning, I think, that you can't come late and read backwards through the thread?). Likewise, if no one is there, I wind up chatting with my self, which seems a bit bonkers.
On the other hand, once you show up in the box on the right, you'll be listed as the moderator!!
Wow! I moderated a brief chat with myself, but it still got out of hand.

I've been demoted from Moderator to non-loader.
:-(
Oh well.

Mair,
You should see a list of chatters. If no one else is in the room you should at least see your own name. If it doesn't come up within a minute try reselecting chat from the choices on your left. Other people have been having trouble recently too. Please keep trying.

Thanks Jane, but I have to give up now. I never get to the point where I am listed as a chatter. What does "Applet started" mean? My message box shows a message that says that I am being logged into the chat room... but nothing happens after that. Do you think I'm not really there and am not giving it enough time. Everything seems to load very slowly.

Mair,
It's not you. I was getting exactly the same thing when I wrote "Now it isn't loading at all."
Jane suggested said to try opening it from a separate bookmark:

Hope to see you there.

Today, as an experiment, I tried to access PB Open from my computer at work since things seem to load so much faster. I kept getting disconnected, and there was a message that suggested that this "may" be the result of trying to get there from a different computer. Does this automatically happen or can you sometimes access PB open from different computers?

Hiya Mair-
When you leave the yahoo site, do you log out, or just shut your browser?
Make sure you have active X Controls enabled, and if you are using a firewall, you'll have to either disable it or see if you can add it to your list of accepted sites. When you login, make sure standard is selected under the name/password box, instead of secure.
For Active X Controls, etc., click on Tools|Internet Options|Security|
Give that a try?Hope that helps,
Kiddo
