I preferred the other photo Dr Bob!

Lookin' serious.

I always wonder if there is a race to be the first person to comment on a new photo...

I think the photo is made to reflect the seriousness of the mood of the US at the moment... Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

I don't know if you, kid_A, are right or wrong -- but I do think, Bob, that your expression does capture the moment.

Perhaps something more light hearted is needed to counteract the sadness & seriousness for everyone?

I think there will be a time for the light hearted -- On ESPN.com they are reporting what has happened. On the side, is a story that all the games have been canceled for today. Then, there is a substory that the games will go on -- when as a country we are ready -- when the time is right. I kinda think that at this moment -- some 4 hours into this horrendous tragedy, that is where I am at. I am in shock, saddened, depressed, angered. And very serious. I just got off the phone with my mother. We both spoke of how this will test some of our beliefs -- for instance, using the CIA to hunt someone down and shoot them in the head in retaliation. Never thought I would even think that --

so for now -- I am guessing many of us will need our seriousness. As with any death, there is a process.

Are we just too young to understand this for what it is? Or do we all just try to be too sensible and see the others' person's point of view and lose our guttural feelings?

I'm rather "liberal" but can't get over the lack of raw emotion here. I'm flummoxed.

Perhaps the emotions are TOO raw to be expressed yet. Instant communications are a mixed blessing.

What bothers me is, I'm not surprised by anything anymore. This type of terrorist act is not so UNbelievable anymore. THAT's scary.

It does seem surreal, though, when you see the Twin Towers collapsing on themselves. And the people covered in debri. They're helping each other, which is good.

I don't know what to do. We're 2 hours from the city. We're going to offer to take animals from the shelters if they in need of fostering. I'm not sure if I can give blood (I take Depakote). And I wonder if the city needs things like water brought in. I don't who to check with.

Try calling the American Red Cross, that would be your best bet.

This is one of the better ways to deal with your feelings, Kat. In helping others, we help ourselves. I'm sure the hospitals in your area would know how to go about it as well.

I have to agree, the latest photo was way better - you looked really handsome. The other makes you look really scary!

Just thought I`d tell you.

Anna.
