with my eyes closed

Posted by Jena Lyn on July 6, 2001, at 21:06:52

I sometimes feel like Im going through life without seeing anything that is around me. Ive separated myself from life, so I have to ask the question, am I living? Is it living to go through each day hating life, hating my situation and the way that I feel all the time? Is it living to go through life with your eyes closed, your heart numb, and your mind your worst enemy? Is it??????????/

Jena Lyn,

Who is helping you? Do have a pdoc working with you on medications and a therapist working with you on other issues?
You sound very alone in your post, and I just wondered if you have allies in this struggle. I'm sorry that you are hurting.

Shelli

Shelli.......
well I haven't been to a pdoc in a year and a half and I just stopped taking my meds a month ago. My insurance doesn't cover mental health and I can't afford it right now...but I do have friends that are very supportive...its just really hard sometimes because they can't understand no matter how hard they try. Thats why I came back to babble...I look at it as my group therapy for now......thank you for your concern...
Jena

Well, it is living, it's just not fun living.

Sorry to hear the bleakness you're experiencing. I bet, though, you do find moments where you are impressed and awed by something (mother nature often does it for me, with just a flock of geese going overhead, or a breathtaking moment catching a hummingbird feeding, and other stuff like that--sometimes funny too)even when you feel bleak.

Your sister in desolation, wishing you all the best,
Shar

Dear Jena Lynn

I am sorry to hear of your pain;your cries
sound very desperate. Just try to remember
that you are not alone; others on this site
have experienced similar pain. Continue
to emote, Jena Lynn; continue to emote.

Glenn

When did this all start, my dear?

Are there particular events which trigger these thoughts?

The eyes are the windows to the soul, and even with the extended metaphor ("...with my eyes closed."), you are denying the world from "seeing" the person you are. Don't do this. We all have a purpose on this planet and in this life, and though it might be difficult discovering what that purpose is, self-torture is not the way to do it. Self realization is.

Behold! Behold! And SEE!
