Twisting mind

Posted by kellyR. on October 25, 2000, at 12:48:41

Life planned out before my birth, nothing could I say,had no chance to see myself.
KILL,It's such a friendly word, seem the only way for reaching out again.
Living on your knees conformity, or Dying on your feet for honesty.
I'm your source of self-destruction.
I'm twisting your mind & smashing your dreams.
Fear of living on And thinking "I was born for dying".
But they take you away, because they think there saving you from your HELL.

These seem like really profound words to me. I may interpret them different than you meant them, but a lot of good poetry is like that. Conformity is a degraded level of life in which you have lost all your spiritual/psychological vitality and integrity. But standing tall with integrity and truth (about corruption, social injustice or family abuse) is such a taboo that society may kill you for talking about it. They killed Jesus.
Those are very memorable and meaningful lines.

CONFORMITY-suitability & a shared likeness of features.
Sorry for the poem, sometimes i write theses things without thinking.

I know what conformity means. I was just interpreting its negative implications. No need to apologize for the poem though. Poetry is a wonderful way of expressing oneself.

REGRETTING THE DEVIL

Regretting the Devil

i still stay up at nights with devils in my head
and kiss too many cigarettes
and kiss regrets like cigarettes
i guess they form an amulet
a memento for things long gone
for battles lost and battles won
and you can bet that if i fret
it's that still i worship it
though i tried hard to escape from its incestuous tentacles and wished to die but gasped for air
and asked myself:
is this my body?
Is this me?
So many pieces and needs to be met
as cease to exist as a cancerous cyst
and hear the whispers and the rumors
that permeate through silent stagnant walls
which inquire:

Am I not the one you would have aborted?
Am I not the one you would have deported?

So don't forget to pay your debt
let this jaundiced silhouette
escape from its anemic sickle cell
and stare if you can
through the shadows to the remnants of a man
shattered and haunted at the core
