My favorite Star Trek character is Bones

Posted by Dinah on June 15, 2007, at 10:39:20

My favorite Harry Potter character is Albus Dumbledore.

My favorite hero was a grizzled old knight far older than his lady.

I performed even better in classes taught by men (as long as they were relatively smart and competent and funny helped) than I did in classes taught by women.

I could go on and on and on.

My (male) therapist thinks I must have Daddy issues. But while I was scared of him and didn't know him well when I was very little, I always knew that he loved me, and we later grew very very very very close even though I certainly recognized his flaws and he drove me nuts sometimes. I really wouldn't say that I was lacking a Daddy's love.

I am somewhat amused and perplexed.

It might be as simple and as complex as the tone of voice and how it reaches into your Limbic brain and causes you to react. The fact that you learn better from men tells me that you most likely received less mixed signals from male voices early on - so friendly or harsh, you trusted the meaning in the voice.

It is interesting.

My favorite character in Star Trek is Captain Piccard - Kirk is a close second. What that says about me is that I like to be in charge of no-win situations -- like running a nonprofit. :)

Mine was spock.................
