Yall have probably already discussed this but I thought it was fascinating.

I am starting to feel too much like a duck.

And it's really weird. I came here to talk about dbt but I'm off in my own world again half the time.

Now I'm feeling a bit like my knickers are showing. :) I know I say way more here than I do in real life, but I like to hope that it's nothing I wouldn't mind real life knowing. But I'm being egocentric aren't I?

I'd love to hear about your DBT experiences if you'd like to share? I've had an awful time trying to find any in the area. And my experiment with my therapist didn't last long.

Thank you for the article. I think I am going to learn some stuff about me and I might not like it but I will have to own up to it. Thank you for making me aware of it. Thank you.

What is DBT?

I feel more inhibited about some things, and less inhibited about otherthings. I feel more conflicted about some aspects of my 'self' and less conflicted about expressing other aspects.

Very fascinating read. Thanks Zazendruck.

Hmmm.. I've referred to it as DBT so long now...

I think it's Dialectic Behavior Therapy, originated by Marsha Linehan, which combines cognitive behavior concepts with Eastern philosophy, particularly with radical acceptance. She found that a subset of clients don't react well to strict cognitive behavior therapy, and do better with a therapy that accepts them as they are while also attempting to induce life enhancing changes. Which is contradictory, hence the dialectics aspect of the therapy.

Or I may be completely off. It's been a while.

no curt i meant Dialectical not Diabolical ;) (nm) » curtm

Thanks for answering me. I'd like to come back and post later about DBT.
