I haven't tried it myself, but I've heard good things about it from others.

I had a therapist big into REBT. I read some of the founder's (Dr. Robert Ellis) books. They are a very good read, but for me, I needed more. I need a very supportive environment and lots of validation and reassureance, and found REBT does none of that. It's good to know the skills though--anything that helps for me, I put it into a big stew and take things out when I need to. But REBT is not, and cannot be, what I rely on.

For me, DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) was a better fit. It was originally for Borderlines but they have expanded that and anyone can benefit from the skills.

The whole cognitive-behavioral therapy spectrum has things to offer, in my opinion. But it is also touted as being more than it is. It gives you tools for the moment, but maybe not the big picture that I myself was looking for in therapy.

Hope that long explanation helps!
