My T said an interesting thing........

Posted by woolav on April 16, 2005, at 17:29:18

Ive had only one visit so far, but in his "interview" he said, based on the meds im on and what I have told him that I have a mild form of bp. I have never been told that by my pdoc, but it makes sense. I just didnt put 2 and 2 together at first. Like I only noticed the depressive episodes, and never saw the mania..and he says its because i have hypomania. So the symptoms are much milder. I can look back over the last few years and see it now, but never could before. I wonder why my pdoc didnt mention it? Seems like she would have. All as she ever said was that i have panic disorder and depression. Should I bring this up with her on the next appt?
thanks in advance
s

Sure! Put it in as laid back a manner as possible. Not like he missed something. More like "My new therapist said he sees this in me, and I thought it was an interesting idea."

I only say that because my psychiatrist gets *really* irritated (for him at least. Mr. Blank Slate) when I say my therapist says something that impinges on medical therapy. And my therapist gets mildly irritated when my psychiatrist says something that impinges on psychotherapy. Some of them have bigger turf territoriality than others. Until you're sure, I'd go mild. But then that's me. :)

your probably right. I will just casually mention it to my pdoc (she doesnt even know im seeing a T now) but she is pretty understanding and open to things i say, so maybe she will be honest....

Thanks
