Sexual Question:***sensitve subject material***

Posted by xxNightOwl28 on February 20, 2005, at 5:08:17

Orgasm ruins my mood, I will be in a really good mood that goes away after orgasm, this has happened quite a few times. I often just cant wait for my body to re energize, and re furbish to the point were I was before the orgasm, after 3 or 4 days I feel really great, good, everything is going good, then boom i have an orgasm and I am unhappy, unfocused, tired, and irritable the next day I dont understand it. Any suggestions would be helpful thanx so much.

i don't think i have any good advice but my first thought was that an orgasm makes you feel good. Is there a part of you that feels guilty about feeling good or doing things for yourself?
-is there anything regarding the environment (people involved) that makes you feel uncomfortable?
-you deserve to feel good.
sorry not much insight today.

I remember reading about some guy posting something similar on the meds board a while back. Sorry, can't remember whether there was anything especially helpful or not. Might be worth hunting it out or doing a google. I hadn't heard of this one before.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

If your male:

From the book: "Tuning the Brain" by Jay Goldstein, MD :

“The situation in which synaptic fatigue is most obvious is that of sexual arousal and ejaculation in the male with a neurosomatic disorder. Some males relapse after ejaculation.” <snip> “There is a massive release of NE (noreppy) with ejaculation, which further explains relapse by a synaptic fatigue mechanism.”

Sorry I don’t have time to quote more from Goldstein. (He’s retired now, but is a medical genius).

Could this be something physical, maybe hormonal?

I take Effexor 150mg xr per day and I think it slows down my regeneration process your body goes through after sex. Since sex is a hard physical activity it takes alot out of me, after I have to regenerate and I think Effexor makes that difficult.
