Effexor: Anyone Jerk, Pin Pricks, Itching, Shocks?

Posted by rompy on December 29, 2003, at 15:37:08

Does anyone have tingling, itching that borders on pain, limbs that move on they're own, hot needle pricks, electric shocks, etc. ??
I'll keep this short, there's too many details.
But after my first dose of EFFEXOR in 98 my toes starting wiggling uncontrollably and I got so hot I had to sleep in the coldest place in the house.
After taking the shrink's advice, I continued until taking the stuff for a year or so until I couldn't cope with it and weaned off 1 pill at a time. When I was down to one, I weaned off the rest of the way with Prozac. Prozac was easy to quit.
But 3 years afterwards, I'm worse than ever to the point that I've seen a neurologist and had a battery of tests, and it's been determined that I have nerve damage in my legs. I'm on a whoping dose of Clonapine, Neurotin and Ativan.
The neurologist won't directly say that it's the effexor, but he can't of course. I can't even prove it. The shrink was angry because the of the mixing of clonapine and ativan and told him everything would be cool if he shut his mouth... because he was involved like it or not.
But does anyone have anything similar??
Any class action suits?? Movements trying to ban the drug ??

Sorry if it's confusing, but there are a number of boards here, and (just plain) Psycho-Babble is the one for medication questions. Here's a link:
