I am always up and down. It has gotten worse over the last 3 years when I went on disability. I am still waiting on disability and have no insurance and little money left. My effexor ran out, and I can't afford the $490.00 to refill it. Is it OK to take Prozac instead? I have a full bottle of 20mg Prozac. I was taking 2 75mg Effexor for about 2 weeks. I was on Prozac before that, and was not feeling any better. I was starting to feel a tiny bit better on the Effexor, then my mom passed away on the 4th of November, and I have been going straight down little by little since then.
I cannot even afford to go to a doctor. Do you think it is OK to take the Prozac? How much?
Thank you for any help

2blue,
Welcome,
It is not up to us to give medical advice. I feel for you in your situation. Could you call your doctor and ask for samples to tide you over until disability comes through. I should think most docs have them. If not, they should be able to tell you how to switch over to prozac for the time being. I would hope knowing your situation they would be willing to help.
Good luck,
let us know what happens.

perhaps check in on the medications board, more traffic
