a healthy smoothie

Posted by garnet71 on April 9, 2009, at 21:18:16

So tonight I made this smoothie, the first I made with Kale where you can't taste the kale or any greenness at all:

vanilla yogurt
frozen mixed berries-black, blue, rasp (1/2 bag)
1 very ripe banana
some milk
6 large kale leaves
and put your flax oil in it

Makes enough for 2. Normally you can taste greens in these things, but since some people don't like that taste, i posted this one. Kale supposedly removes toxins out of you and has tons of vitamin K (get it-K for kale?lol)

I'm a big green smoothie fan. I use kale a lot, sometimes parsley or swiss chard. A green smoothie is one of my favorite meals. It makes me feel really satisfied and energetic and happy that I've done something good for myself. I need to have more green smoothies.

Yeah, green smoothies are great..I use parsley too or cilantro. You can make an orangey one with the cilantro, like with pinapples, orange juice, maybe an apple or pear and it doens't taste like greens.

No Sid, can't taste the Kale at all in that one. I guess your supposed to boil Kale though, to get the full effect of the nutrients. I never do.
