There are, indeed signs that "the end is near".
I wouldn't go wait out in the street on it, however. Study Revelations; apply it to the world today. Just hope when the Rapture comes, you don't see a bunch of folk poofing away while you stand and watch. That would NOT be a good sign.PAX

I know it wasn't meant to be "funny" but it caught me as funny... and it was a much needed smile. I guess I feel somewhat secure that I won't be standing there while the poofing is happening. I appreciate your posts, Pax.

If I remember my comic book Bible tracts, at the end all the righteous are supposed to be instantly taken up to heaven to be with Jesus, whilst all us sinners get left behind here on earth, then it all degenerates into war and plague and such.
Oh, and the antichrist is down here with us I think, implanting computer chips into our brains to control us. Something like that.

OK, since I started this "poofing" thing, I will extrapolate. When Christ has His second coming, which precedes the 7 year period of tribulation, all those truly the children of Christ will instantly be taken to Heaven (or Purgatory, if you are a Catholic, I guess). Thus the "poof"...as in poof it's gone! If you want to see it dramatized, rent the movie "Left Behind" based on the book series. Need more info? Let me know. Oh, and to Sandra Dee....poofing can tickle the funny bone, that's OK. I can see the humor in it, I guess.

I've been walking on eggshells 'round here lately, as have others, so I'm glad that didn't upset you that I took your post with some humor. That "Left behind" movie was good... made me want to read the series... wish I had more time for reading. My mom (Catholic) once told me that 2 out of 3 people will not make it to heaven (where she got that stat. I do NOT know) but I was only a kid at the time, and only 3 in our family (I'm an only child, for the sake of making this story short) and I was thinking... Hmm... which one of us is gonna make it? Yikes, huh?

No worries. I have a well-developed sense of humor. I would postulate that God does to, looking at the way some of us act. He must shake His head sometimes, and say: "What was I THINKING?!?"
I try not to take life too seriously, and try to laugh, or at least find humor in almost any situation. (see humor-related post on PSB).
