I am trying some ginkgo now with ginger for improved circulation. The ginkgo is supposed to help the antipsychotic work better, so this could be a big plus for me. I am hopeful. At least, it will be doing something positive even if it doesn't turn out to be a mood booster.

I've never come to any conclusion about the effect of ginkgo.
I do know that you can make a nice pot of tea using a little green tea and some freshly sliced ginger.

gingko looks great in studies. Circulation, add-on to ssris, brain fog. When I tried it I hated it. Much too stimulating in an unpleasant way. Teeth grinding, feeling agitated, overall dysphoria. Yuck.

Yeah I think I get agitated on Ginkgo as well, been using Nature's Way. I just started taking it again after a 2 week holiday. I'm hoping I notice feeling good or at least don't feel it is adversely effecting me. I'm interested in ginkgo's anabolic effects.

Hmm in my experience with ginkgo I found that it did not help crazy religious feelings and a feeling of paranoid interconnectedness. However I felt this way after I stopped taking prozac, so I don't blame the ginkgo that much. But when I stopped taking it so did my bizzare thoughts. Stopping it left me more anhedonic than ever. Now it doesn't work. It does take at the least 12 weeks to fully kick in. Some say 12-24 weeks. So if you're psychotic I would 1) not try it and 2) not wait that long if I still had psychotic symptoms.

Thanks for the advice. I do have psychosis, and I don't want to take anything that would make it worse. Besides, I've never had much luck with herbs or amino acids, except with a brief stint with glycine, which seemed to help my anxiety.
