Did anyone else here really like KAVA KAVA. I loved this herb. It was everything I ever could have asked for.

At last we agree on something Linkadge :)
I liked Kava as well, it was the only calming herb that ever did anything for me, all the others felt like placebos.
It should still be possible for you to order Kava over the net.
In the UK Kava is not sold on the high street, but you can still order it over the net.I would like to ask what form of kava you found most effective?
I had bad experiences with raw Kava, Kava tincture, and Gaia kava liquid extract worked well.

I don't keep up with herbs that much, so I wasn't aware that Kava isn't available. Was it banned? If so, why? Just curious.

It was linked to liver complications.
I found the tincture or capsule form effective.
I sometimes mixed the tincture with coffee which I called Kava-Java. Anyhow it was good, I'm sure the MAO-B inhibitiion accentuated caffiene's dopaminergic effect.

I read about Kava and heard how great it was... natures natural valium. Went to buy some at the GNC and the lady over the counter about had a cow when I asked if they had it..
" NO, that stuff is not allowed."
I felt like I had asked for cocaine. LOL
Anyway, she suggests Valerian Root. I bought a bottle, took one, made me feel like a space cadet but did nothing for sleep or nerves.
Just made me feel like my head was in a bubble.

> " NO, that stuff is not allowed."I just bought some the other day, not from GNC though. NOW brand, it did have a warning on the label. So it's still available here (California).

Valerian and Kava are not the same, and I don't like it when health food stores suggest one subsitutes directly for the other.
I thought valierian was not much, but Kava had some substance to it.
It was more rewarding too. Had a bit of an AD effect for me. Something I looked forward too.
It was a good chill pill.

Raw Kava is kind of challenging, isn't it? I had to work at it. Makes your mouth go a bit numb.

yeah and if you mix it with lecithin it works even better! (But tastes a bit dire).
I get mine over the internet - can't you have it shipped to you??
I admit I haven't used mine for awhile now - it's probably gone off. I kind of 'ignore' it because it is a very strong spiritual kinda experience for me - and often I just want to be able to float through life, not have to get in touch with my spiritual side every time I want to relax ho ho.
I must be very repressed.
Kava is great stuff - although I think once or twice from overuse I got a bit depressed from it - actually in spite of, not from probably.
