Back in the "good old days," I used to make my own yogurt. I had my own yogurt maker which consisted of a hot-plate-like device, a thermometer, and some glass cups with plastic lids. I saved a lot of money making my own yogurt. I ate even more yogurt then than I do now. I don't know what happened to my yogurt makers. Has anyone seen yogurt makers for sale in recent years? If so, is there a particular brand that you'd recommend? I'd like to make my own yogurt again because, around where I live, yogurt is just too darn expenive (between $3.00 and $4.00 per quart).

Esi-yo yoghurt makers are sold in supermarkets over here. They are like a big thermos. You buy a sachet of yoghurt mix (flavoured or plain) and mix it in with hot water, leave it on the bench over night and then it is done.
Better for you than the brought stuff too...
Cheap to buy.
Maybe off the internet.

Nope. NZ. Thats why I suggested looking on the internet to get one in. I suppose they would be available online. I am kind of suprised that they aren't readily available in the US. Like I said, most of our supermarkets have them. The problem might be getting the yoghurt sachet mixes. I just grab em from the supermarket but you may need to order them online too...
