No filter can stop that...not if it's the one and only Emmy!

(sorry, sorry...I couldn't stop my fingers...hope I get by with that, 'cause I ONLY tease ya' if I like ya'...)

What is it that you don't allow then?

I want to make sure I'm as vulgar as I'm allowed to be...

I once got in trouble for saying "crazy-*ss" so now I'm pissed! (I guess "pissed" is ok. So, I bet, is "crazyass" if you take out the hyphen. Can anyone say "arbitrary"?)

Sorry.. got to pop into this one..

Dr Bob hs said, and it does say in the FAq I believe, that he uses Merriam Webster's definition, so that no one can argue he is being "arbitary".

Merriam Webster doesn't have that word listed.

But the FAQ say that he doesn't allow

Relying on an arbitrary source does not absolve a person of arbitrariness.

If push came to shove, which I'd rather it didn't, taking out the hyphen might be considered bypassing the system...

Sorry, that means when Merriam-Webster OnLine considers it "usually vulgar".

Dinah, does it seem arbitrary and silly to you to allow wiseass but not crazy-*ss?

It does to me.

I wasn't trying to bypass anything. I was just making a point. A trivial one, I'll be the first to admit. But I really don't care about saying curse words. I got over that around 4th grade.

I also had a filter, to filter out certain words and phrases...

Of course, as well as the real curse words, I also filtered or replaced certain other words...

It was a horse related board, so the word "horse" was rendered "*****" and other horse related words changed: "Mare" because "Monster", "Saddle" became "Sofa", etc.

Man, that was fun... It would almost be worth putting one up again, just for that!

Well, it just picks out the first vowel. Which is admittedly less than perfect...
