I've been prescribed Gabapentin 100 mg 3 times daily for anxiety and alcohol cessation. I was wondering what I can expect? Does it make you drowsy? Dizzy? Calm? Zombie like? etc

That's not a high dose. Side effects should be minimal. It's a bit more woozy that drink but may be helpful. Gabapentin causes me fewer problems than Lyrica.

gabapentin just indirectly calmed me down, it kinda relaxes the nerves but it's not like benzos, it is effective also for pain, mainly neurological pain and various, they use nuerontin with pain medcicnes like opiates to increase their effectiveness
i was on 800mg three times a day, it was a high dose but i remember it also had a anti-depressant effect, i was not depressed and felt calmness that was unrelated to a benzo

I've actually just be prescribed...100mgs, 3x daily, my oc-disease.
when i was on it before, it was OK. oddly...I felt more impaired than on Ativan or Klonopin, but I think it actually causes less impairment. I just felt out of it, but that was 300 x3.
hope it goes well. i'm actually off to the pharmacy soon-ish to get this bad boy filled. (fingers crossed for both of us..)

I used to take 300 mg at night for sleep. Really helped with anxiety, detachment, etc., but boy did I feel impaired! can't even take it during the day which is a shame because it helps so much.
could be that I was also taking with MAOI, lamictal, and tiny doses of klonopin.
