Acetyl-L-Carnitine

Posted by Lamdage22 on August 13, 2018, at 4:07:55

Hey yall,

i took 1000mg ALC today. No risk no fun. I am scared that there might be an increase in anxiety. Does anyone have any intel?

I am having pretty good success with some ingredient in blueberries. Dont ask me why. I am very motivated to do sports again which is awesome and it gives me some more antidepressant activity than just the meds and the blueberries alone. I also endorse low dose lithium. However id like to be even more motivated!

Take care,
Lamdage

the more honest shrinks I've had (ive had a number of them..moving, doctors in and out of the clinic) have pretty much told me that 2 neuroleptics is less than ideal, in terms of safety and outcome. the bit of data ive been able to find on it, thru The cochrane review, pretty much indicates the same thing...

higher costs, more adverse effects, no major benefits, plus drug-drug interactions.

its your treatment, your body, your life. i just think you'd be happier if you could reduce your level of sedation. adding more pharmaceuticals doesn't strike me as the best idea. supplements can help, to a point...however...

im into Orthomolecular. they use a term coined in the 50s..."tranquilizer psychosis." apathy, indifference, sedation, lack of concentration, tremor. according to the Orthomolecular people, supplements can help with tolerating the tranquilizer, overall health, and outcome...

but they're not so great at countering the tranquilizer psychosis. :-(

just a thought.

Blueberries are good. I remember taking a blueberry extract and feeling pretty darn good on that alone.

The anthocyannins promote neurogenesis and (I think) are MAO-B inhibitors (good for cognition).

could a high dose of grape seed extract cover some of the same bases? I have only a very rudimentary knowledge+understanding of all this.

Seroquel is more sedating than Zyprexa... Is it also more impairing cognitively? My feeling would say yes.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Depression is bad enough without adding anxiety to it.
