It's an anticholinergic named atropine that is the main chemical in datura and angel's trumpet (the one that you write about), just like bideriden (akineton), trihexylphenidyl (pargitan) and benzatropine :-)
(Not exactly the same but very alike.)

Once in a bad time of my life i ate 100 of akineton 2mg pills and had a chemical delirium, just like the kind that scopolamine produces.
Not that fun i can tell you all.. i was very near death, but i did see some truly amazing things that i didn't know could exist.
But it comes at a cost, i was psychotic for a long time after it.

You don't wanna mess with that!

Kind regards / J

It's all in the dose. Scopolamine, hyoscine & atropine all have legitimate medical uses, but the doses are VERY small - often less than 1 mg. I once experimented with a recreational dose of scopolomine & got nothing from it but a rather dazed, amnesic period. Definitely a dangerous drug under non-Rx use because the dangerous/lethal dose is so small.

That said, I just purchased OTC Buscopan, a related drug (N-butylscopolammonium bromide), for intestinal cramps (colic). You can likely get preparations containing these drugs from a herbalist. Caution, yes, but no more a Devil than any other powerful med.

There's nothing that isn't poisonous in large enough doses, even water. But the very powerful drugs such as scop, fentanyl, etc. are dangerous because a slight miscalculation or unreliable source can be fatal.
