Doctors ok'ed Luvox

Posted by Lamdage22 on May 30, 2016, at 8:18:42

They didnt really have a better idea. I wont take Venlafaxin anymore and tomorrow ill be taking 10mg Luvox.

I sure hope i wont be as batshit suicidal as the last time i went off Venlafaxin.

Id rather have them give me 50mg but im not calling the shots here.

This must be the name brand luvox as take the generic fluvoximine and it comes in the lowest does I think either 25mg or 50mg tablets. Which I split and take 25mg a night. Have for too many years to count. Phillipa

I do think it helped this but not the ruminating. My biggest problem is creating a catastrophe out of simple anxiety. Most likely it doesn't really do much at 25mg which is what I take & also 2.5mg of lexapro. And then the benzos but I continue to function. But remember I'm 70 years old and low doses only. I believe it is a very stable and simple substance, which tends to be good from my point of view.
I've had thoughts of trying it to and still have.

Please follow up here on your progress, it would be very helpful for alot of people.

Are you continuing the zyprexa?

From what i understand about it they seem to be synergistic, i don't know why i think that but it feels like a "kind" substance and zyprexa is pretty kind to..

It should help with cognitive stuff to as it is a 5-HT2c-receptor agonist.

I don't know if olanzapine antagonize that site or not but agonizing it seem to be a good idea for mental clearness...

All hopes for you

I just took 25mg and i feel a smidge less anxious.

I dont know. An option my Dr brought up would be to replace it with Solian (Amisulpride).

Oh i really think you should try amisulpride in a low dose instead of saphris.

amisulpride i've only heard good things of and its mechanism of action is very very different to other antipsychotics.
I posses a nice anxiolytic effect to i think, and beside the qt-interval(which is ALWAYS dose dependent) it's a very harmless drug.

In sweden it is recommended for bipolar depression if everything else has failed.
And i think it is indicated for people that are sensitive to EPS.

But in sweden you need license for it, if you don't i think you should try.

I you also have sulprid, i think that is an even better choice!

Maybe i thought of clozapine with the eps-indication..

Still i think that amisulpride is a good choice in a low dose!

I havent taken Venlafaxine since 33 hours. I have taken Luvox 25mg this morning.

In the past i think i would have been suicidal by now without Venlafaxine. I also have less anxiety. I like it.

i think that Venlafaxin at 75mg was anxiogenic.

Having taken both Effexor and luvox....

You'd probably need a dose in the 50-100mg range to equal 75mg of Effexor.

I noticed that luvox definitely made me more outgoing than Effexor did. However, Effexor tended to be a bit better for energy levels. Effexor tended to make me more introverted. Luvox tended to get me out of my head, and did a better job at clearing up distorted thinking.

It works at least as well as Effexor and that at 25! mg with way less anxiety so its already a win.

They dont want to go over 50mg because of the cyp450 drug interactions. I dont like that!

i had some horrendous reactions to ADs in the past and this is why they are careful.

Also there is the issue of inhibition of cyp1a2 liver metabolism (Zyprexa kicks in much harder).
