Nardill - new member

Posted by ErrolFlynn on September 22, 2015, at 15:38:35

Hello to all !
In this topic, I will describe my experience with Nardil. In the past, I have tried almost all antidepressants on the market and their different combinations. For example - Venlafaxine 300 mg with paroxetine 30 mg, mirtazapine 45 mg and quetiapine 300 mg. I have OCD, social anxiety, depresion and one is my favourite -
hypochondria.
Today is my first day on nardil. I took 3 tablets today (1- at 14 sharp, 2 - at 17 30, 3 at 22.20). At the moment I don't feel any side effects And forgive me for my English, because it is my second language.
1 question - how many times a day i need to take medication? It must be taken once a day or twice a day? Nardil has 11.6 hours half life. For example, I'll take the first pill at 11 am and the second at 21 pm. Is it okey?
2 question . My weight is 80kg.
I need about 80 mg for sufficient inhibition of Mao? In couple of weeks i want to take 60 or 75 mg of nardil.

I think it doesnt matter if you take it once or twice a day. Go up slowly. I had a pronounced effect at 45mg. Made me psychotic.

So watch out for that as well. If it makes you psychotic get off immediately. Psychosis is very destructive.

ErrolFlynn welcome to club

I advise you to a site with important information

http://psychotropical.com/anti-depressants/general-intro-2

an important criterion for the efficiency of a dose - a side effect of postural hypotension when you sit down and get up in the blood pressure drops

the pressure drop must be regular and indicates that you accept the minimum effective dose

positive or adverse effects are dose dependent and dose efficiency of critical and necessary side effect is different for each person

I experienced side effects (hypotension) and a little buzz effect only on first week. I think that i haven't any side effects today. I take 45 mg nardil 'archimedes' - UK. And mirtazapine 30 mg for sleep.

At full dose it took 2 months for Nardil to start working for me. Full effects were after 5 months.

I'm not on it now. I stopped about 10 years ago. I would like to be on it but I can't convince my new Doc to prescribe it for me. I think he is MAOI illiterate. It is the best med available. The only side effects I didn't like was the sexual dysfunction and I would only get 5hrs of sleep every night.

In my case, the dose was increased gradually to 60 mg over a period of 8 weeks. The side effects grew gradually more and more unbearable, I couldnt
sleep at all.... But after 8 weeks gradually, it felt like a miracle was happening - I began to feel happy and relaxed, I could sleep, I became sociable etc... for me it was a miracle. My dosage was then reduced to 45 mg and it lasted for 22 years, and then it stopped working. In my case, only the maois work. I am now on parnate.

Did you try getting off the nardil and then starting again when it stopped working?

Hello. I take nardil for about 3 months. Yesterday i took my last pill of nardil. I have one question. My new nardil will come in 2 or 4 days. What happens if I make a break in the 2 or 4 days? I fear that the effect of 2 months subside.

You will probably feel worse TEMPORARILY. When you restart the Nardil, you will feel better again in a few days.

You'll be fine.

Good luck.

A Dr. told me once decades ago that Nardil is curative, meaning the AD effect will last months or years after it is gone from your system.
