Saw the pdoc recently. I thought I was dandy on 200mgs SR, but dude man decided to double it...so now its 200mgs SR x 2 daily. So far, so good...
...I am a lil bit worried about the Abilify. Should it be adjusted downwards? I'm on 30, so...yeah. I'm hoping the wellbutrin won't increase the abillify levels too much.
Is 400mgs a lot? I see that a lot of people are in the 300 range. Wellbutrin isn't supposed to be as apathy-inducing, right?
Weirdly enough...I haven't needed either of my PRN meds (neurontin, risperdal) since I started the wellbutrin. I'm pleased w/ that, of course.

I used to take 400 mg of Wellbutrin SR well before the onset of my psychosis. I started taking it as monotherapy before the psychiatrist I was seeing at the time added lithium carbonate into the mix. I don't recall noticing any apathy that I could attribute to the Wellbutrin, although I didn't find it to be particularly effective at treating my anergic depression (even with lithium, though the addition of lithium did seem to help some) either. I tend to respond to medications in unusual ways, though, so my experience with Wellbutrin probably isn't representative of what a typical experience with the medication is like. I do think you're right, though, that Wellbutrin doesn't have a reputation as being apathy-inducing.
I wish you luck with the higher dose.

Wellbutrin sr at 400, did not give me apathy. I think it may have even made it less. just made me more anxious though.

the SR delivery system releases 100mg every four hours, not sure exactly if that right now, but the dose that made me really anxious and feel wierd was 200mg in a single dose, i thought it would give me a boost, but it gave me anxiety and made me feel wierd.....but that was over 10 years ago, so.......maybe things are different in the chemcital anatomy.....
400mg is moderate, usally the max they use is 450mg in the XL form, they used to use higher doses in the late 80s when it was released but the siezure cases increased, bupropion can cause siezures at higher doses, they originally used a 600mg dose daily, and after that case reports of siezures, they removed it and then put it back on with a lowered recommended dose
