I take 30 Abilify, 1200 Trileptal, 100 Lamictal. I was thinking Latuda for my melancholy moods and maybe to (hopefully) help me lose some weight.
But...wow, I just don't know. There's a psychotic component to my "issues," so keeping that under control is issue #1. Also of concern is EPS, since I'm sensitive to EPS (that's one reason I do Orhtomolecular).
I'd be taking this instead of Abilify, so dosing would also be an issue (although I imagine my doc would know what to dose to start me on).
Any helpful info would be good, please.

I'm totally underwhelmed from the little research I've done. Doesn't matter, Medicare would never pay for Latuda. Frankly, I don't blame them.I guess that brain scans eventually will be a game changer but I really don't know what I'm talking about.
But if they were, we might be taking 12mg of Lamotrigine, 24mg of an AP, a touch of zoloft, get ten minutes of sun a day and be cured. The only protocol for psych meds thirty years ago till now is "up the dose." With me, it's strange, but almost every med that actually has helped me a tiny bit has also brought along weight gain and sexual dysfunction. If I'm fat, I'm on the right med.

Latuda created agitation and increased ruminations for me. It felt very different from abilify, seroquel, or Saphris for that matter. Not that this may be very helpful for you to know.
If you tried it, and you had a negative or even neutral response, would it take much to get you back on track?

I take 80 mg of Latuda and find it helps quite a bit. I hear fewer voices and my mood is improved. I'm exercising again and I eat better. I started off at 20 mg, moved up to 40 mg, then 80 mg. Latuda also comes in 120 mg pills. Max dose 160 mg / day. And it's covered by my Medicare Part D drug plan.

I read your post and have finally found the answer. AARP is who i go thru for medicare but their service provider is united healthcare. If I use an in network pharmacy my copay for latuda will be $65. out of network $95. Oct 15 there will be an open enrollment that will be even cheaper. Thanks for posting because I never would have researched this otherwise. Now I have a headache from dealing with this.

It has something to do with United Healthcare but I don't remember that option. Judging by some of these comments that could be a good thing.
