Insomnia without seroquel

Posted by sleepygirl2 on August 6, 2014, at 0:13:40

I've been cutting the 25mg pills in half, trying to go without tonight and my brain is having trouble resting. Everything has a rebound.

seroquel causes sleep, and calm thoughts, but could you try something else? like natural stuff valerian root

zyprexa lasts 20 hours and is sedating past 15mg, phenobarbitalish sedation....relief in some ways maybe you could ask about that because zpyprexies are sedating but it clears up thoughts and provides relief from unpleasant thoughts

Sorry you didn't sleep. Seroquel was much too strong for me years ago. So stick with low doses of benzos still. Phillipa

Not a rebound issue-just not enough Seroquel to be effective.

Its rough trying to get sleep once you're off Seroquel. I would recommend taking Vistarill instead of the Seroquel.

good call...I was thinking Vistaril of a very low dose of Thorazine.

Maybe you could take baclofen or neuron tin for a while to help you come off of Seroquel.

Is this insomnia caused purely by medication (Seroquel withdrawal?)

I just upped the seroquel dose a couple of days, sleeping well on 25mgs, would like to be off it at some point. I don't remember neurontin making me all that sleepy, and I need to come off anything potentially harmful in pregnancy... Which is like everything

Oh, i see.

You could crush the Seroquel and make custom capsules for the last couple steps of withdrawal.

As you might have looked up, gabapentin is category c.

I'm thinking about what sleep aides may be permitted....
