Although I started Effexor 7 days ago, I am considering asking my dr to switch to Fetzima based on a recommendation by Eric on here. From what I've read, people seem to have less sexual side effects and it is energizing for most people which I really need.
I have a little bit of PSTD due to a severe drug reaction so feel nervous about trying new things. Is there anything aside from the possibility of feeling anger (which I've read some people have had) that I should be expecting?
When I have used Effexor previously, it seemed to kick in quite quickly for me. I know it has only been 7 days so not long but this time I seem to have some negative things but no benefits yet (trouble sleeping, sexual side effects, and my cravings for chocolate are totally out of control and even worse than usual- is this my body trying to compensate for something???)

I am not a big fan of Fetzima. I think that if you HAD to have to an SNRI, then you should totally switch to Fetzima based on what you wrote down here. But, if you decide to go off Effexor, you're opening yourself up to a whole world of antidepressants, and I believe Fetzima is one of the weaker ones out there.

Thanks for feedback. Was thinking that effexor might have too much an effect on serotonin for me, not enough on norepinephrine so was thinking Fetzima in that way might be better.

Starting Fetzima will increase anger, irritability at first but will subside later. Getting past the sweaty, hot feverish feeling was the hardest.

Just got back from Dr's. Fetzima is NOT yet available in Canada. I walked away with a script for modafinil......
