I meet with my pdoc in 30 minutes. What should I propose as treatment option. I've tried just about everything already.

I know you are wary of AAPs, but if you have tried everything else, low dose Seroquel or Zyprexa would likely help. Some people complain of bad withdrawal, but that hasn't been my experience. The risk of TD at low doses is quite small. I couldn't tolerate the Seroquel, but did use the Zyprexa for several years. My cousin in Denamrk (now 60) has been on a whopping 20 mg for many years. It certainly improves sleep. Nothing is worse than insomnia combined with constant anxiety. It's hell on Earth. Also, I thought you were going to ask for Gabitril?

Zonegran, Gabitril and Keppra are effective at treating anxiety.

Mirtazapine 45mg at bedtime

An SSRI in the morning (Paroxetine 20mg, escitalopam 10mg, Sertaline 50mg to start, and slowly increase if needed)

A benzo (Valium? Ativan?) taken when symptoms require it.

Not well. I'm frustrated and took it out on him. He was happy to see me leave. I see him again in a few weeks; I'll buy him coffee, tell him he's a good doc and all will be well...I hope. I changed my meds that night and, strangely, I feel better now. I take lyrica and clomipramine and experience good sleep and the headache is gone...we'll see how long that last.

John
