Ok...im confused, ive had social anxiety for a while, years...ive been on alot of meds, none for bipolar but i notice one similar thing with me always...my energy levels are all over the place and my mood is all over the place...sometimes im really quiet and timid, then 1 hour later i feel like talking..
this is not right..
opinions please?

What meds are you currently taking?
Some medications can cause hypomania or mania
but that is a side effect of the medication and in
no way means you are bipolar.Xanax, CNS stimulants and SSRIs have been
known to induce hypomania or outright mania
in some people. When the drugs are stopped,
the symptoms go away.Benzodiazepines can make some people
moody and they can cause disinhibition.

Have you ever had a major depressive episode?
Have you ever had a manic or hypomanic episode?
These are both requirements for a bipolar diagnosis

i take effexor 225 mg for social anxiety, and wellbutrin 300 mg a day.

Have you been on this combo for a while, or is it new? Wellbutrin can be dicey, be it with MDD or Bipolar. Many people experience different forms of mania with Wellbutrin, so it's possible it's not the most desirable med for you.

Took wellbutrin only 150mg years ago and it did make me feel manic. Ended up in the hospital. Then was easy to be admitted. Soon as off it fine. PJ

When you're up, do your thoughts race?
Shifting from quiet to verbiose is not a good indicator of mental illness.
