Ssri akathisia/nervousness (zoloft) Does it pass?

Posted by Lamdage22 on November 8, 2013, at 7:34:38

Does it generally pass with time? I get it even at an 12.5 dosage.

However, even the 12.5 dosage eliminates suicide thoughts and brightens my mood and motivation also to some degree.

Would adding klonopin help with this? I never experienced it and I started with 12.5mg, along with .5mg k.

Yeah, it just shuts out hopelessness.
I hope this will continue to work well.

It worked very well for me, with racing thoughts, and over thinking, helps social anxiety too. My mother in law takes it, my husband takes it! I took it for 2 1/2 yrs. Pdoc says its a good ssri for many diff psych issues.

From my experience it does not pass with time. Propanlalol may be of some use.

What about using cyproheptadine (Periactin) to treat the akathisia?

It was discovered that akathisia involves increased levels of the neurotransmitter norepinephrine, which is associated with mechanisms that regulate aggression, alertness, and arousal. Though no further research has been done yet, it may also be involved with disrupted NMDA channels in the brain, which have both synergistic and regulatory effects on norepinephrine.

Cyproheptadine has actually been reported a cause of Akathisia.

That may be true, but it is also true that cyproheptadine has been studied for the treatment of AP-induced akathisia with good results.
