remeron experiences PLEASE....

Posted by marcus1968 on November 8, 2013, at 8:56:24

Hello I can't seem to get a straight answer from my pdoc (go figure) but isn't remeron at a dose below 15 mg just a sedative/antihistamine and not affecting serotonin or helping depression at all? I am prescribed it but 7.5 just seems to make me sleepy all day and no a.d. effects??
struggling here~

I took Remeron for about six months. It was fifteen years ago, so I can't remember the dose, but I think it might have been 15 mg. I felt somewhat less depressed and anxious on it. I slept nine hours a night, but it wasn't a deep, refreshing sleep. I'd feel groggy most of the day. And I was hungry the whole time I was on it. I gained twenty pounds while taking it.

It makes you want to sleep and eat. Nothing else. I suggest staying away from it.

all i remember is it never touched my insomnia, or my depression.

Best wishes

Good for sleep, its one of the top choice for chronic insomnia. As antidepresant it works best at 30mg. Below 30mg there is no noradrenergic effect.
Certainly it will make you increase your appetite and gain some pounds.
The next day hangover should go away with doses above or equal to 30mg.
