Nortrip - does weight loss happen if stop taking?

Posted by alchemy on August 20, 2013, at 18:55:22

I thought nortriptyline was shaving off some of my lower dips. I am thinking that is not the case. Any ideas on why that might have changed only after a few weeks if in fact it was?
It has definitely caused some weight gain. Any chance I will see a few pounds come off if I stop taking it?

I did with Amitriptyline years ago. I only gain 10% of body weight but when I got off of it, it dropped and I didn't look quite as pregnant.
I took nortriptyline but can't remember any details.

Since it's the medication don't see why you won't drop the pounds. Phillipa

I gained a bunch of weight on Nortriptyline but yes it came off pretty quickly.

It was also the only AD that was effective so far.

Thanks Laney. Did you stop taking it because of side effects? Do you still have a lot of meds to try?

What dose are you currently on? No one knows why they work, so it's impossible to say.
