Parnate and Seroquel

Posted by tensor on July 23, 2013, at 3:37:56

I need something for my anxiety during a washout for Parnate and was thinking if Seroquel would be a good and safe choice. Perhaps 300mg during washout and perhaps start tapering it off after initiating Parnate.
Any ideas?

Hi there,

How about a temporary increase of your benzo dose? (assuming you're still on one).

I would expect Seroquel to be OK though.

Hello!

Benzos are not effective enough, I just get tired if I up my dosage. Escitalopram seems to keep the anxiety under control. I think Seroquel did okay at 300mg.

Hi Tensor,

When do you start Parnate? Do you have to have it imported?

Hi!

I'm not really sure as I want to get a referral to a university hospital. I would like to be treated by a physician who has experience with MAOIs and uses them more or less on a daily basis. It would feel more secure and I have a lot of questions as well. Will know how it turns out by the end of the week.
It has to be imported, but doesn't seem to require a license, just a regular prescription. The pharmacy I've been in contact with here says it can be imported from an international pharmacy in Germany, don't know which one. Don't know the manufacturer either, but I will find out when it's set in motion.
I will probably switch to Seroquel at the end of this week anyway and wash-out my current meds.

Regards,
tensor

Hi Tensor! :)

Did you have your appointment? If so, what was decided?

In the UK, pharmacies do not import medication themselves, they order from a 'specials' supplier or wholesaler which imports on their behalf. Such suppliers keep common imports in stock. Importers obtain stock from foreign wholesalers or manufacturers, never from pharmacies. Not sure if things are similar in your country.

Hey..

just saying, Seroquel and Parnate didnt work out for me.

I went into a pre-psychotic state on 300mg Seroquel and 30mg Parnate.

I didnt want to go up with Seroquel so we ditched Parnate yesterday

Although...

It was even more Serouqel than that.

MAOI (A+B) used to be awesome for me for a while.

Now its a direct ticket into insanity.

Dont ask me what happened in my brain, i cant handle it anymore.
