Yes, many many people have. I've used fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, citalopram and escitalopram.
I couldn't take benzos regularly, they have more side effects than SSRIs for me.... tiredness, worsened mood, memory loss, poor concentration etc.

After developing an anxiety issue, I took Xanax approximately once every other day for two weeks before being prescribed Zoloft. It was effective at reducing anxiety for me in about an hour and I hardly needed to use Xanax for the rest of the time I was on the drug.
This isn't a typical reaction to an SSRI; I felt mood elevation within days and became somewhat manic after a month or two, which is how I have reacted to Lexapro and Effexor in the past.
Also, the anxiety was likely caused by ecstasy abuse (which probably caused medium term serotonin issues) ...

every ssri.snri have used and I've used them all needed Ativan or klonopin on board...feeling now that I need to take .5 Ativan twice daily and 1.5 for sleep just to calm a little ---won't go any higher...might paxil be an option or perhaps luvox cr?
