negative sides of alcohol

Posted by rjlockhart37 on July 7, 2013, at 0:24:22

as much as i've written about alcohol use, i hate it now, the effects after a couple hours after it leaves your system, in some state of stupor, no life, just sedated with no feeling....awful it depresses a sector in the brain that causes more depression, with my case....

if i need a relief, couple swigs of vodka or rum or something will bring relief, but if the intake gets large, altered state of reality, now that i think, being drunk is not fun....at all, its bad...the after effects waking up and finding yourself passed out on the floor, and have no memory recall and feel like absolute depression itself.....awful, the only time i ever consume alot of is if a horrible event happened, or something extremely annoying, just flood it with alcohol, but its no fun in 8 hours. In the past i flooded it with Xanax, but thats not an option now....so its doing it the way regular society deals with it with no anxiety meds.....

a panic attack thats untreated, seriously...i know why the doctor will not allow benzos because of addiction history, but i resort to large amounts of alcohol when a panic attacks comes, and i have to say yes it does calm the nerves but the withdrawl effects, and the depression of the cognitive systems is noted. Xanax is more a relief, than a drunk feeling, alcohol changes behavioral effects more notably, increases aggession and causes anger to come out easier....

but still im getting over it but i've got to realize that handling anxiety alone, is hard, have to have a bottle of vokda avalible when needed.....but its nasty, the after effects....more like horriblious

thanks for reading

Well Drinking has got to be the worse way of dealing with your Anxiety

I can well understand your predicament
You need to get some help, something to replace the Alcohol, I'm not hear to judge
Not Jesus or anything, just another drug......

Alcohol destroys your body & brain with excessive use
Considering you've already got Psych issues I can only think that almost any Drug would be better

Have you tried a Drug called Baclofen?
It apparently kills Alcohol cravings & I find it makes me far more Social
Its cheap & not controlled
The only problem is that Baclofen can itself be abused & can be very addictive if you abuse it

Don't drink straight out of the bottle. Mix it. Or beer. Too much is the problem. You might try buspar for anxiety. Or campral, for quiting alcohol or reduce cravings.

Do you have job or school or anything these days?

You could try some sort of major tranquilizer drugs. Like perphenazine but doc won't give that. But anything else they might prescribe. Remeron, or have you tried seroquel?

I drink beer...lager....its really wierd, the beeer has a diffrent effect than the regular vodka, i know the proof is much stronger, but it has a diffrent effect than beer....beer chills me, hard liquor, i drink Stoli Vokda...it changes my personality, im more in the mood to get angry and rage, go out and do things drunk, walk around the store and buy TONS of food i would never buy sober...and basically do things in half awake state...talk didffrent, aggressive...beer just...lol makes me relaxed and maybe go to sleep.....no main changes, more merry

i've been on buspar....there sometihng else i have conidered is Lyrica...similar to nuerontin....because i think when i need to calm the nerves.....so i need to replace it with anxiety med....and not sip on alcohol and have headaches and hangovers....

Lyrica may be an option....

thankz...

im trying lyrica again, it is good med for alcohol addiction yet its not known by medical suggestion.....it needs to be approved because it is vary helpful for alcohol dependence....the way it effects the brain like Nuerontin. Anxiety causing someone to want to drink.

thaks....
