It might be true. I don't know. I have heard these claims made before.

I am currently taking lithium carbonate 450 mg/day. At some point, I may try crossing-over to lithium oratate. However, I am not inclined to try this experiment until I have made a few more medication adjustments and allowed them time to settle in. I have more research to do.

For me, the optimum dosage of lithium carbonate to treat my depression is 450 mg/day. I have seen the recommended range for depression to be 300 - 600 mg/day. In bipolar disorder, the amount of lithium necessary to act as a mood-stabilizer usually lies between 900 - 1500 mg/day; the optimum dosage to be determined by blood tests. I don't know how lithium is used in schizophrenia.

I neglected to specify that low-dose lithium for depression is meant to be used in combination with an antidepressant. I doubt that low-dose lithium is effective as monotherapy.

Jeroen I've seen those with depression do very well even on non-therapeutic doses of lithium. One guy just looked different a few days after starting it. All the tension out of his face and seemed really relaxed? I would guess it varies with each individual? Phillipa

Maniprex same as lithium dosages?

for example id like to be put on 300 mg twice daily or is too high already for starters?

i'm going to discuss this with my mad shrink, he wants a high dose for starters, i think it's just crazy

Just my opinion, but lithium orotate is among the other NATURAL REMEDIES promised to help, however you dont really notice to many people using it.
