Great find.

NE would have been my guess, as adinazolam (Deracyn), another triazolobenzodiazepine, is supposed to exert its antidepressant effects via NE. Adinazolam is a very clean drug that I found was devoid of sedation, although this has been described.

I see that prazosin was found to be synergistic with alprazolam in producing antidepressant effects. Pretty cool.

I also saw that valium can dampen the effects of xanax. So does this mean taking both valium and xanax isn't a good thing? As that is what I've been doing. Cutting down on the xanax and keeping valium same. I've noticed a lot ot sweating and changing of nightclothes at night since started this. So it explains why xanax alone at very low dosed just helped me feel normal? That's what my neighbor did basically eliminated lexapro and stuck to xanax alone with gabapentin for sleep in low dose. She certainly looks and seems a lot happier. It's been a few years since she did this. Interesting to say the least. Thanks Phillipa

Do you know the extent to which your neighbor experienced withdrawal effects for having discontinued Lexapro?

Sorry took so long. I left and was outside. But she switched to effexor and then withdrew from it as wanted off ad's. That took about a week and antidepressant free. Seriously she acts so different. Says takes less xanax also. She did quit teaching and go on Disability compliments of a pdoc that just filled in the papers to indicate she was bipolar and isn't that I know lived next door 7 years now. So she does as she likes, travels, etc. Her & the doc played what I term a game he would prescribe all sorts of meds. She'd get them as good insurance and not take them tell the doc she couldn't so he said bipolar and can't take meds. I read the paperwork for SSRI and that is what it said. But also an ortho doc said her knees were bad so she got two rounds of steroid shots and she was approved. I hate how it was done. Lexapro just stop? This is something I can do. She took 20mg for years and years Phillipa

I cant say that i have ever felt alprazolam improved my mood any more than (say) diazepam, it makes me calm and relaxed, but I havent felt any antidepressant efects from it - I always knew i was an odd ball!
