Hello,
I take sertraline + desipramine.
I have good results but side effects: bad sleep, a little anxiety and sweating from desipramine.
Also, desipramine is genotoxic.Nortriptyline seems good but i gain weight easily and i'm already a little overweight (90kg, 1m78), do you think it's possible to avoid gaining weight with long term treatment with Nortryptiline?

Nortriptyline is much better than most tricyclics for weight gain, I took 75mg at night for 2 years and didnt gain more than about 2kg.
I'd give it a try and see how it goes. It only causes you to gain weight by making you want to eat more, so if you're careful with what you eat, and take a brisk walk for half an hour a day, you'll be fine. The daily walk will also be good for your depression.

I was 2kg over my usual weight range while taking Nortriptyline, but I was not eating any more than usual and I do a lot of exercise (I'm a runner). I believe that at least part of the 2kg was from medication-induced constipation and associated urine/water retention.
Since stopping Nortriptyline I've dropped the extra 2kg I was carrying and got relief from the constipation and urine/water retention. My abdomen deflated fairly quickly. Nortriptyline had given me a very bloated appearance.
I hadn't attributed the extra 2kg to Nortriptyline as before that I had gained 6kg in 5wks due to a combination of Mirtazepine and Zyprexa. Interestingly enough, as with Nortriptyline I lost 2kg of that particular gain very quickly upon stopping Mirtazepine and Zyprexa, despite no changes to my diet or exercise routine. The rest came off more slowly, but I was still that little bit over my natural weight range due to Nortriptyline.
My weight is now back to its usual range.

It's short for kilogram. One kilogram equals approximately 2.2 pounds.

I forgot to mention that ALA helps to treat insulin resistence, improve glucose uptake dynamics, and prevent cell apoptosis due to excessive blood glucose.
