Piracetam and Benzodiazepines AdverseInteractions?

Posted by neuroscience on October 16, 2012, at 2:59:07

Are there any adverse interactions with piracetam and benzos? I'm currently taking klonopin to help treat a dyskinesia and anxiety.

I took Keppra along with Ativan and had no adverse reactions. I'm sure you'd be safe with Piracetam and benzodiazapines.

Have you ever taken Keppra?

Eric

No but I remember reading about it in Motor Symptoms of Schizophrenia: Is Tardive Dyskinesia a Symptom or Side Effect? A Modern Treatment.

Keppra you need a prescription for I believe. Piracetam you don't but from what I understand, the companies selling it in the USA get their stuff from who knows where in China, which makes me nervous about buying it off of amazon.

A study shows Keppra as effective for treating tardive dyskenesia:

I would be nervous of getting Piracetam online.
