anxiety from Nuvigil

Posted by rjlockhart37 on September 25, 2012, at 20:02:34

i don't if its causing this....like i said i've been waking up feeling like my brain is on fire...its bad...really...feel like im going to have a siezure and can't calm down. I've got to get on Librium or Ativan this sh it my body always causes is typical. Nuvigil sometimes makes me be more active, and alert if it has any effect at all...sometimes it doesnt. I've already been on the dumb a ss medications for anxiety....they don't work and are waste of time and money...benzos are really a choice at this point. Lets see if my doctor will decide to precribe long acting trazadone....stupid stuff like that I can't stand....and then they let drug lady have all their samples and runs out of the office.

Anyways...its norephinerine being released too much which is funny because fanapt is suppost to reduce it. What's causing this?

Maybe stop the Nuvigil if its causing problems?

Given the cocktail of meds that you're on, and the lack of relief from them, I think it would be sensible to ask for a second opinion form another psychiatrist.

Nuvigil basically works the opposite from a benzo. so if you are taking both at the same time then one could decrease the effects of another.
basically Nuvigil increases glutamate which then decreases GABA, and it is the opposite with a benzo.

yea it makes sense now....the glumate or whatever is skyrocketing causing me to feel wide wide awake with anxiety....but I can't stop it because my body has such poor brain stimulation making it impossible to function even after waking up and drinking caffeine.

It used to have no effect at all...i was worryied about absorbation issues....i've prayed repeatedly to devine powers to heal me from this condition and some of it did work...i have to say its diffiult to have faith in something that could be a lying spirit or a delusion of the mind thinking your talking to God....its really not fun.

but yea...i've got to find something to reduce glumate...im wide awake, over the top with anxiety....like im having a discreet siezure...my doctor I will have to repeatedly call and make it well documented, before anything happens. Some people have it easy and get precscibed ativan or xanax on the first couple sessions....its gonna take years in this case.

Have you tried clonazepam or magnesium?

Can you try reducing the dose of nuvigil by 25-50%, to see if the side effects are reduced but the good effects remain?

You're already taking an antipsychotic, an antidepressant, a mood stabaliser and a stimulant, I ready dont think that adding a benzo to that mix is going to be a smart move, especialy as you have had dependence and abuse issues in the past.
