All I take is 50mg of luvox, less now that .25mg of lexapro, 12.5mg xanax and l0mg of valium. I sleep well til wake to take synthroid and go back to sleep. I catastropize for hours when wake up about everything. After been out in afternoon sometimes during being out drink my green tea cold and water. Feel better. Don't take anything but vitamins in am and only B6 in the B category? Don't get it any ideas? Thanks Phillipa

I dunno Jan, it could be any of the meds or it could be part of the underlying disease. Sometimes the meds dull down symptoms, but sometimes they exaggerate existing cycles/symptoms. Speaking only for myself and recognizing the same pattern with others who have described it, I find that both Lyme and/or adrenal issues are at fault here. Most of our psych meds, in my opinion, put quite a strain on the adrenals, and they also mask symptoms of underlying disease but allow the disease to progress and gain strength. Just knowing what I know about your situation, I would guess your adrenals are quite shot.
Anyway, I've had the same pattern you described for years. Off zyprexa, it improved a lot. Off antidepressants, it improved a lot. With changes to diet and herbs for adrenal health it improved even more. Now with ABX and lyme herbs, that stuff is completely gone.

youve got anxiety that isnt being addressed, or its some sort of endocrine issue. Your cortisol is at its highest on waking I think.
Might be worth measuring that, or raising lexapro. Not sure what luvox's halflife is, but lexapro is something like 36 hr? I forget. Might even try prozac.
There are supplements that help with lowering cortisol. I think kava and holy basil? Might be worth trying too.

are you eating before bed. I find I sllep poorly and wake up unhappy if I eat before bed especially carbs. When I eat high quality high protein diet and don't eat 4 hours before bed I wake up happy. The first step is to only eat protein and high quality complex carbs before you try and avoid eating before bed. After you clean up your diet then not eating some many hours before bed is easy peasy. avoid soy except for fermented soy products like tempe.

Endo did three different versions of cortisol test, 24 hour urine, spot blood test, then dexamethasone and normal? How much of the combo of both ad's can you take before serotonin syndrome? Thanks Phillipa

Phillipa, do you mean 2.5 or 1.5 mg. of xanax? 12.5 is quite a big dose--huge in fact. I also get anxiety and worry upon awakening in the morning. I do think it has to do with the adrenals.

Abbey wow a big typo for sure no 2.5mg of xanax but even lower now as don't need to sleep. None during the day at all and the l0mg of valium. Thanks for catching this. How are you doing with your meds? You also feel bad in the morning? Why do you feel this is so? Thanks Phillipa

I figured as much about the dosage! I am still on alprazolam unfortunately 1.5 mg. and bupropion 150 XL per day. Seems to work okay but I don't sleep very well and it's not the bupropion. I can take it at night and makes no difference. In fact I've been on it for several years now so it actually makes me feel calmer in a way. I take melatonin 5mg at night and that seems to help some.

Since wellbutrin helps in low dose did you doc ever hint at bipolar? Just curious as seems that this is the one ad bipolar can tolerate? Phillipa
