Reducing Lithium--PLS. HELP!!

Hi, I am reducing my Lithobid from 600mg/day to 300/day.

(There is no in-between dosage. I wish I could have done this more gradually but Lithobid is the only form of Lithium I can tolerate.)

So far it's been 7 days and I feel worse, not better. My mood has been worse with some dissociating (only lasted a few minutes though), irritability, mood shifts, etc.

I do not feel physically better yet, though I thought I would. (from being on less medication.)

My questions are:

-how long till my body readjusts to the new dosage? How long until the lithium level evens out?

-are the mood changes simply a rebound effect of reducing the dose or does this indicate that I needed the higher dose all along?
