Help, I'm itchy all over!

Posted by Deneb on February 16, 2012, at 4:58:36

I'm itchy all over and scratching a lot. I give myself scabs that I keep scratching off. I found this lump on my groin and I thought it was cancer, but when I started taking the prophalytic antibiotics for the mole removed from my ear the lump started getting smaller.

I figured it can't be cancer because cancer doesn't just get smaller.

I don't know what the lump is. I don't know anatomy well enough to know whether or not it is a lymph node.

I'm getting all itchy so I thought I might have lymphoma. Or maybe I have leukemia or something.

I also have this horrible ezcema on my face.

Does anyone know the chances of these symptoms meaning something very serious? Like cancer or something?

Could the itching be psychosomatic?

Maybe I'm allergic to something?

What should I stop eating first?

Some thoughts: you could be allergic to the antibiotics you are taking. The fact that the lump in your groin got smaller while you were taking antibiotics is very reassuring. Still, if it persists, you should definitely have a doctor look at it. If you can, try not to diagnose yourself. Rely on experts you can trust.

Deneb in all seriousness I had a lump not so much groin but where my underwear hit my groin and it was a cyst. I saw a dermatologist with it and he squeezed the guck out. Then applied a cream and I also have to squeeze for two days apply a small dressing it went away. Lately I also have small raised red bumps that itch like crazy on arms, sometimes under neck. I use cortisone cream on it. I've also wondered allergy but not on antibiotics which definitely could create an allergy. I often wonder if it's a supplement I take or seriously if I'm allergic to this house as it gets worse here. Even wonder if could be allergic to the meds have taken for years. I took thought cancer first. But I'd do what I did with my lump call your doc and get it looked at to ease your mind. Phillipa

I just saw my doctor for my lump. It's nothing to be concerned about, a gland infection or something and my antibiotic had taken care of it. I found out I also have ezcema on my "down there". She noticed my ezcema on my face and ears too. I got a samples of this foam called Verdeso. She put a ball of foam on my hand and asked my to apply it.

She's nice. I got some near my eyes and she carefully wiped it off for me.

Ugh, stupid ezcema. It was getting really bad. My coworkers were asking me what was wrong with my face. I was also peeling small toughened sheets of skin "down there". I should have known something was wrong lol.

I can't believe I have ezcema on my face. Aren't only small babies supposed to get it there?

No, I'm afraid not. It is treatable though.

Take Benadryl for the itching (25-50mg four times a day) and apply Caladryl lotion to the itching areas for imidiate releif.

See a doctor pronto, it might be scabies, or any one of a dozen other things, we cant guess here on an uinternet forum.

Good about the lump. Exzema also responds well to cortisone. But not if you have a lot. Good for getting the doc to check it out. Phillipa

Allergy to certain foods would be suspect. Clogged lymph glands would be suspect....weekly massages or Red Root tincture to unclog the traffic jam. Basically....too toxic, it has no where to go except out the skin. Whatever meds you take are also suspect. Changes in detergents can do that. All that said, I do believe this warrants a visit to the doctor.

You don't say if you have a rash that is itching or just that you are itchy. A lump could be a cyst and I have had good luck with using raw Manuka honey on a cyst and it actually opened up and drained itself, it was not large but it hurt like heck and was about the size of a dime and hard. You have to do it when you first notice it before it gets too large I think.
The itching you may be allergic to something you are taking or eating? You could do an elimination diet, there is info online on how to do that. I would also wonder if it's one of your meds? I have taken meds for years and all at once developed an intolerance or allergy to them. For eczema I would suggest stop eating sugar and processed foods:( I also like a cleanser I use from "Made From Earth" called detox cleanser and I put on my body before I get in the shower and let it absorb some for 3 minutes before washing off.

Just thinking when read the new posts that I'm allergic to the dyes in detergents and softners. Two good products lines I've used both are Shaklee and Melaleuca. All natural only. I no longer am a member and use the one in grocery store but I am also itching again. I kind of don't trust what I am using now. Phillipa
