Okay, folks.
I had whipped through my bottle of Xanax about a week too early. I have refills; the pharmacy won't refill them early w/o a MD auth. I have a temazepam RX I can pay cash for until I am due for this refill.
This hasn't happened to me in a long time, and let me just say, when you are morbidly depressed and drinking at night, Xanax doesn't help much with hangovers. Not advised.
Temazepam is one of those straight-up benzos approved just for insomnia, but truth be told, I have taken it during the day before without too much distress.
I will probably fill it. I do not want my doctor informed that I am out 7d early nor do I want benzo WX.

Ok....Temazpeam can be used during the day, the only thing you need to be aware of it is that it has hynpotic properties and can be a potentailly dangerous med when driving or anything that requires alert attention. I used to use it when I had no Klonopin left. about 30mg will do it for anxiety but you have to know that it only lasts about 2-3 hours and it will wear off and you will have a rebound effect with anxiety.
You need to talk to your doctor to prescibe some non narcotic medications such as nuerontin gabatril, hydroxiyze [visteril] that you can refill faster than Controlled substances and you can take them more often. Have you considered Tranxene? it lasts for a very long time in the body and it will not wear off fast like xanax and temazpam do. It IS a controlled substnace too but it may do you some good. I have no idea of your history so I may not be the best to advise you. But i surely hope you the best.

I used to use them interchangeably, had scrips for both. I prefer Xanax, but restoril put me to sleep too. It made me a tiny bit groggier in the morning.
