Called this am and the old pdoc is still closing practice this month and retiring. Why drive four hours each way and use all the gas and the time to say goodbye. Don't need closure. As my husband said we go there accomplish nothing leave with a script and drive home. So since the new pdoc seems to be okay not going. When I say don't need closure means that I don't like to say goodbye and since only saw her once every two months or so just doesn't seem necessary. It's not like a therapist where there is a bond with the good ones. So end of long drives to see a doc as new one here where I live. Just felt needed to write this. Phillipa

It makes sense not to make that long drive when you don't absolutely need to. It might be nice to write her a short appreciative note ( if I recall correctly, she was a strong support to you for quite a while).
VERY nice to hear about the new pdoc!

You take the good decision. Why driving 4 hours just too say goodbye? Especially for a PDoc who was never really good for you. Will have to finda new one myself since I fired mine, tired to be take for a fool and leave in a so bad state of anxiety, its not even human to do this to someone...

Knew the family Son, Grand kids ex Daughter in law. It's very triggering to see her. Since she is now with her head in the clouds at age 73 and getting married leaving the state. I do think might wait awhile. Only because sometimes bills have appeared that never existed before and don't know where came from. She is very can I say cheap. In that no paper towels , lights off heat at times. I don't know. Let me process this. I do feel it was the right decision though. Phillipa

Shrinks aren't really close enough to their patients to justify a 4 hour drive. 4 hours!?! For a final sessions?!?! You did the right thing. Let's be honest--she's certainly not thinking about you at all.

CE didn't go but had to go to Raleigh but now the extra hour to Greenville. I didn't regret not going at all. What for? Phillipa
