Which health insurance?

Posted by Lamdage22 on December 5, 2011, at 11:13:05

Hello Everyone,

i hope you guys are doing fine and are keeping your heads above surface.

i am applying for college in July-August and will be around town fairly often next year..(SoCal) to get a couple of things going. This way i hope to have a smooth, relaxed start as opposed to stressing out right from the start.
Since ill be in the US before college starts fairly often, i want to take care of a good health coverage soon.

--->What is a good Health Insurance company? I am not trying to save money on this, i am aiming for quality health care.

Many thanks and a greeting
from

Lamdage

First congrats on going to school here. Wow a loaded question on insurance. I think most states have some the same and some different. Did you google any in California? What school and what will you be studying. Glad you are also feeling better. Phillipa

It's always going to be worse in the us if you are coming from a place with universal coverage. However, always get a ppo, not HMO. I have had good luck with both Cigna and blue cross. The insurance system here is complex, and usually what is better will cost you more, but is worth it in the long run. Having mental health needs I have found the extra money for the ppo is always well spent. Good luck!
