I don't see where it is discontinued. The article said there is less discontinuation effects than other ads. I think its still under consideration.

Its efficacy as an antidepressant is often called into qquestion. (by who?)

Excuse me? It is clearly written in the last paragraph of "history" section:

"However, the development for the US market was discontinued in October 2011, when the results from the last of those trials became available.[9]

We have it here... but no one takes it. Well, very few indeed. Perhaps it wasn't marketed effectively.

Hi PJ,

Yeah, I decided to visit Dr. Bob's :)

I wouldn't say that lack of use means it's bad. I don't think it's been effectively promoted.

Thanks PJ. I've never known anyone who takes it, it's really rarely used.

That's a shame Tepi. How are you feeling at the moment anyway? Nice to see your name.

I take it, but then I asked for it, after importing it for years. My psych has no drug company connections which helps.

I took it for some weeks. It helped a bit initially--5HT-2c blockade, woo-hoo--but then exacerbated my OCD--5HT-2C blockade, woo-hoo!--and seriously increased my depression--MT receptor agonism, woo-hoo!

My guess is that MT receptor action is also what prevents it from getting good numbers as an antidepressant, but it could just be that 5HT-2C isn't enough on its own. In any case, it was just another disappointment for me. Hard to say whether it would have been useful to anyone in the long term.

It is vaguely pleasant (for me) though there's not much competition that I can easily get.

I take 12.5 mostly but sometimes 25.

Psychonauts? Sounds more like a website about a hallucinogen.
