Was wondering if anyone heard of anything like "suicide by surgery".
I don't mean someone with a terminal illness who does not expect to survive the surgery but wants it anyway.
I mean someone who is not physically ill (yet) and voluntarily gets elective surgery of low-medium risk. He then sets out before the surgery to do things to himself that he knows will increase the risk considerably.
Why do this? "He" has various reasons, including not having the means to do some things, and being too cowardly to do the things he does have the means to do. It would be suicide by anesthesia, in a very controlled setting.
I'm not sure, but I think I may have just broken a million forum rules. If that's the case I apologize. Feel free to trash this post.

Lots of bad stuff. At the moment, I'm not happy about having this thread here.
Do you know of any way users can trash their own posts and/or threads? I can't imagine that there is one, but I thought I'd grasp at a few straws.
I'd like to get this thread out of here and post a reworded version in the psych forum. After re-reading, I realize that it didn't come out nearly the way I wanted it to.

I think you should email Dr. Bob and/or use the Notify Administrator button. Nobody really reads these boards any more and I doubt this will be seen.

...and for years, including when I used to be a deputy, Dr. Bob had a firm policy of not deleting posts unless you are posting while blocked. Who knows now as he has visited once or twice in half a year.
